Block 21/25 My Queen Size Quilt

Ta daaa! My final quilted block and my favorite.

If you know me well (well enough), you'll know I like to draw or paint flowers and wreaths.  So, it was only fitting that I quilted one, too.

I drew a basic circle in there somewhere, with chalk, then I free-hand machine quilted with flowers and foliage. There is at least one feather in there, maybe more.

I have a dream to make a whole-cloth quilt one day, or maybe many of them.  A whole-cloth quilt is basically one whole piece of solid fabric for the top and one for the bottom.  It includes no piecing, and is quilted in a thread that matches the fabric color.  I don't know about you, but I think they are absolutely beautiful!

I want to thank everyone who has hung around and watched my quilt reveal over the last several weeks!  My biggest hope is that you are left inspired, that one day you will try your hand at free hand machine quilting, however large or small the project might be.

Thank you!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED (but details remain for a little longer):

I was so excited to finally share the last block, that I wanted to give something away!  SO, one lucky winner will receive a super mini quilt, 5x7 inches, in their favorite quilting style (choose any one of the the 25 blocks) and in their favorite color (coral, turquoise, yellow, grey, or white).

For TWO entries, in the same comment, I want you to tell me the one distinct difference with this block 21, when compared to all of the rest.  Must answer correctly to have the second entry, I will reveal the answer after a winner has been selected.

For ANOTHER entry, tell me, correctly, which four blocks the pic below is the reverse side of.

Winner announced on the next post.

I'm so sorry for this inconvenience!

PPPS, Thank you, again.  You're awesome.

  1. Ok, bear with me here.. I want to get this right ;-) Distinct difference is - it's different patterns?! I'm not sure, could be wrong, but from my (un-trained and very simple crafty eye) - The other blocks have been 1 pattern all over the blocks, but this is a culmination of all your favourite things - and btw I love it ;-)

The 4 blocks are.. 4, 10, 9, and I confess the hearts threw me a bit. At first I thought the hearts were from 23, but now (mathematical deduction) I'm reasonably sure it's #5.

Quilting style favourite is: 18, 22 or 23! 23 speaks to me because I can 'read' it... <3
Colour - ooh golly. Turquoise with a grey border perhaps?? Or grey with a turquoise border! Yep, either. Matches my curtains ;-)

Oh and.. Not entirely anonymous, I'm Rachel B :-D

  2. Number 4 would be my fav, but they're all beautiful, Holly. xx (Grey or white)

I love comments :)
